Class 4HNL have been learning about Henry VIII this term and decided to base their assembly on his life story.
Interschool Boys’ Soccer – Sotogrande
On Wednesday 7th March Aloha College U13 Boys team attended the International Schools Soccer Tournament at Los Piños Polo Ground Sotogrande. With 12 schools in attendance competition was always going to be fierce however Aloha reached the final and narrowly missed out on victory. With emphatic wins over EIC, SIS and Swans a very creditable second place was recorded. Special congratulations are due to team member Brian Kelly who with 7 goals was leading goal scorer in the U13 division. Well done.
Interschool Girls’ Soccer – Sotogrande
When confined to the sidelines, watching their team play, many coaches experience the thump of their heart in their chest, a rush of nerves and sweating of their palms. This was far from the truth for me when watching Aloha College Girls’ Football team compete at Sotogrande. Everybody who had the privilege of being on the sidelines was completely immersed in the gripping games that took place before us.
Trip to MAERSK Algeciras – Years 10 and 12
On 9 March 43 Aloha Students (Years 10 and 12) and 4 teachers took an educational visit to the APM Terminal in Algeciras to gain first hand experience of the global transportation operations of the MAERSK shipping container company.
Year 3 Visit to Marbella
On 15 March 2012, Year 3 pupils visited the Marbella Town Hall as part of their Spanish Culture studies. They saw the Mayoress’ main office and the council chamber. The inner workings of local democracy were explained to the students, who joined in the session. Who knows whether one of them may not be a future mayor or mayoress of Marbella?
