Year 8 Science Trip to Selwo Park

At the end of September, the Year 8s enjoyed an action packed day at Selwo Adventure Park. Through this educational and enjoyable experience we had opportunities to learn about and engage with the different animals. Some of the highlights of these experiences included an educational nature walk led by the park rangers, meeting the lemur keeper and feeding the lemurs, a fantastic falconry/bird of prey exhibition and a Serengeti Safari, an expedition that allowed us to get up close to, and even feed, different species such as hippos, zebras and giraffes. We also learnt about the conservation elements of the park and brought our knowledge back to the classroom to complete an interactive project on Conservation Island. It was a pleasurable and insightful experience for all.
