All Aloha College pupils, dressed in white, attended a Whole School Assembly on Friday 19 September.
It was a week to celebrate Peace Day.
5ES Assembly – Peace Day
Miss Emma’s class invited all of the Primary School to join them in celebrating Peace Day. Through poetry, dance and song, they shared their hopes and wishes for peace throughout the world, emphasizing the need for each and everyone of us to make our own small contribution. They informed us of the progress of the organisation ‘Peace One Day’ which, together with the United Nations, calls for a day of ceasefire around the world each year on September 21.
“If you build a house you start with one brick. If you want to build peace, why not start with one day?” Jeremy Giles, Founder of ‘Peace One Day’.
