U13 Basketball at Aloha
This Wednesday we saw the second International Schools Basketball competition in as many weeks hosted here at Aloha College with the U13 tournament.
The boys team coached expertly over the past two months by Max Mattila (Y12), were overall group winners beating every team they played scoring a total of 56 points along the way.
The girls team also performed extremely well, however were unfortunate not to pass to the final as they had equal points with Sotogrande. Overall, they scored less baskets throughout the round robin phase.
They also found the 3rd and 4th play off game very challenging. After a slow start and a few baskets down, they finally got into gear but it was too little too late. They ended up in fourth place overall.
Well done to all the players. You really did wear the shirt with pride and were very good ambassadors for the school.
We want to finish by saying thanks to the ACBC referees, Y8 scorekeepers and all the students who came along to support our teams throughout the day.
We are a very proud PE department. Great job!
