New Pupils
Aloha College uniform shop was busy over the holidays, kitting out all the new pupils who were joining both Junior and Senior School in January.
Curriculum Enrichment Programme and Sports
Children were happy to renew their activities this week, with the increased offer of ballet and jazz featuring in the programme.
IGCSE Exam Practice
Year 11 pupils have begun their trial examinations in preparation for the official ones they will undergo in May/June.
Senior School Concert
The Aloha College Senior School concert was a celebration of its pupils’ rich musical talent – right from the Year 7 choir to the 6th form band (tremendous percussion!), and not forgetting the Y9 Rappers.
Key Stage 2 Xmas Assembly
All the children from Key Stage 2 enjoyed delighting parents with their Xmas assembly from around the world
Shine Star Shine – Foundation Stage concert
For their Xmas Show, Foundation Stage children at Aloha College all took part in telling the story of the star that couldn’t shine. Their lines and songs were learnt by heart – quite a feat for 3 and 4 year olds, commented one admiring mum!
Charity Calendar
Aloha College, together with other local entities, has once again sponsored the annual Fundación Crece calendar, the foundation which works to support children with Down’s Syndrome. A photo of some of our pupils with the CRECE children features in the calendar.
Aloha Choir – Palacio de Congresos Marbella
Both Junior and Senior School Choirs delighted visitors at the Christmas Bazaar Charity event on 24 November at the Palacio de Congresos in Marbella. Along with other schools from the Marbella area they sang a selection of Christmas songs. Well done to the soloists from both choirs!
Vocal Workshop
The Music Department ran a vocal workshop on 15 November and was fortunate to have Mrs Daphne Sumbler, a vocal coach from the UK, host the event. This is the third time she has visited Aloha College. She spent time with the Senior Choir, teaching them basic performance techniques and a selection of songs for Christmas. This will be put to good use in the forthcoming Christmas Concert and musical, ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. A good time was had by all!
