ISMTF Middle School Maths Competition in Luxembourg

A major international Maths Competition will be coming to Aloha College next year when the ISMTF Junior Competition is hosted by

Aloha College during Spring half-term. Around 40 schools and 160 students and teachers from all over Europe will be visiting Andalucia and using our school for the competition. The Mathematics Department are looking forward to giving the visitors a taste of Spanish hospitality and we have high hopes for our own competitors. Students will be selected for this competition in September.

28 February – 1 March 2014, Eva Noritsyna (Year 8),  Carmen Faura (Year 9) and Roberto Holmes (Year 10) , three of our most talented mathematicians, participated in the “ISMTF Middle School Maths Competition” hosted by the International School of Luxembourg.

The competition was a truly impressive international event with one hundred and fifty six students coming from 29 schools in 18 countries from all over Europe and the Middle East.

Our students represented Aloha College with eagerness and pride and their efforts were rewarded with great results as they came 11th out of 52 teams! The best result Aloha College has ever achieved in these international competitions!

Congratulations to all three of them on this wonderful achievement and well done on their performance, perseverance and teamwork!
