HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Each student at Aloha College Marbella is cherished for their uniqueness and our pastoral care is meticulously tailored to cater to their individual needs. Equipping our students with the tools to blossom into their best selves, both within the classroom and beyond, is paramount. Our holistic approach is underpinned by the nurturing relationships formed among students, staff, and parents.
We believe that young people learn most effectively when they feel emotionally safe, resilient and supported by trusted adults in all aspects of their wellbeing. We also believe that the personal skills young people learn in childhood and adolescence, in terms of sustaining good mental health and taking appropriate action when things do not go as planned, are ones which can be taken into adult life.
At Aloha College Marbella every day begins with tutor time and the familiar and friendly faces of a small tutor group.Tutors maintain the overview of a student’s school experience; they will come to know their tutees incredibly well and will always be on hand to provide support and guidance. The Pastoral Team oversees all year groups and ensures, via assemblies and a range of other activities, that students have a sense of identity and belonging.
Every student is also part of the big picture; they will learn to thrive as independent, dynamic and socially conscious members of the whole school community. They will come to find that this is a community which values diversity, operates on kindness, and which constantly strives for improvement. They will also find a community which cares for them and treats them as individuals, while always seeking to make them feel like a valuable part of the whole.
A close working relationship with parents is an essential component of outstanding pastoral care. At Aloha College Marbella we support and listen to parents in equal measure. A close and regular dialogue between staff and parents ensures that care for students is fully informed and joined up.
The Medical Centre has a full time qualified nurse daily from 9:00 to 17:00. We have a well equipped and dedicated space for unwell and injured students. This is used for short-term observation of minor illnesses. Additionally, the school works with doctors and paramedics who provide high quality service in the event of more serious illnesses.
A group of 10 staff have extensive experience in dealing with minor injuries and are first aid trained.
