On Friday, 27th March the children in year 5 went to the Museo Alborania de Aula del Mar in Málaga, which was linked to their IPC topic “What a Wonderful World“.
The children enjoyed finding out about a variety of marine species including dolphins, sharks, turtles and sea urchins. They also listened to informative talks in which they had the opportunity to ask and answer questions.
Discussions linked to marine life conservation and protection also enhanced their understanding of environmental issues. In addition, they were able to handle artefacts including whale tusks and fins.
Later on in the day they watched feeding time for the sharks and turtles. Furthermore, the children experienced hands on exhibits and audio-visual boat simulations.
Before returning to school the children also took part in a workshop where they made marine life ornaments using clay.
