On Wednesday 18 October, both boys and girls U15 football squads traveled to Las Lagunas to compete in the international school’s championship.
The girls team had an extremely difficult group, however they managed to come through its winners. It is important to note also that there were many Year 7 and Year 8 aged students represented in this team, all of whom played well beyond their years and were complete assets to the squad.
The boys A team had an equally difficult task of qualifying, however, like the girls, they too topped their group as winners to progress to the quarter finals in a good position.
The boys B team which consisted mainly of very young Year 8 players, showed great improvement throughout the tournament. They ended up finishing third in their respective group beating one school’s A team 4-0!
We are extremely happy with each and every student that represented Aloha College at this tournament. Their technical play was outstanding. However what out shone that was their positive attitude and determination which got them to the final and in the boys case, almost over the line.
The PE department are very proud of each of the players and are looking forward to the next challenges and competitions ahead. Well down to all involved, you were awesome.
