This year’s Summer School has been once again a great success. We have had over 200 students aged between 3-14 years old attend each of the 4 weeks. The children have enjoyed participating in a range of sports activities including tennis, football, badminton, table tennis, golf; our academic program is second to none. We offer a range of levelled subjects including English, Spanish and Mathematics. Many pupils come to us with little English or Spanish vocabulary and leave our school being able to communicate with others in a new language, which is fantastic! We have had fantastic feedback from our summer school parents and children alike.
Pupils that shine in a particular activity have been awarded diplomas in our closing assembly each Friday. The assemblies are very popular with both pupils and parents as we showcase our most popular activities including dance, gymnastic and flamenco along with a fashion show, art and craft and model making exhibition. Pupils have been learning the piano as part of the music program this year and many pupils now wish to take up this instrument due to the fabulous work of Manuel. We have our photographer Rob onsite at all times ensuring all moments can be remembered and parents have the opportunity to keep the photographs of their children. This year we have also offered activities in ICT, multimedia and photography.
Pupils have enjoyed external excursions to the Selwo Marina, BioParc, Puerto Banús cinema and the beach. The children have learnt about a range of both land and marine animals and birds. They have had the opportunity to work in groups to complete a series of team building activities and challenges on the beach in San Pedro. Pupils watched the new Minions film that saw the Minions take over the monarchy in England whilst our smaller children enjoyed a visit to Kids Kingdom soft play centre in Estepona. We continue to offer our Adventure Friday program in conjunction with adventure bug. The pupils have had the opportunity to try kayaking, canoeing, treetop challenge and canyoning down the river in Benahavis.
We hope to see many more pupils attend Summer School in 2016 and see many return as they have over the last few years. Have all a great summer!
