Aloha College pupils enjoyed a fantastic week’s skiing in the Italian resort of Folgaria this February Half Term. Thirty-six pupils and five members of staff flew to Bergamo Airport early on Friday 24th February, giving us time to spend an afternoon in beautiful Verona, where they visited Romeo and Juliette’s balcony and traditional “carnevale” celebrations were in full swing.
Skiing began the next day, under the guidance of Folgaria’s excellent ski school instructors. The resort offers a variety of beginner and intermediate slopes, which help the pupils to make rapid progress and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Dolomite Mountains. All pupils were soon whizzing around the pistes and enjoying the challenges of the snow park. Our evenings were filled with fun activities, such as ice skating, tubing, football, swimming, a historical tour of Folgaria town, bowling, cinema night, ski race presentations and a disco with other schools. To sum up; the weather, the food, the skiing and the company were fantastic and our group returned to school exhausted but still buzzing!
