Our students in Year 12 and Year 13 have recently enjoyed the visits of two excellent speakers, Messrs. Mac Chakaveh and Louise Glen.
Louis Glen, from Lanterna Education, talked about procrastination and correct time management during the Sixth Form years, which can be extrapolated to the university years and the personal lives of the students.
The talk took place on the ground floor of the secondary school library.
Mr. Glen managed to capture the attention of the listeners with practical and fun examples, which they will surely remember.
We were also delighted to welcome into school Mac Chakaveh, Film Producer and Director of the Marbella International Film Festival.
He took time out of his busy schedule to come and talk to our AS and A Level Media Studies students about his experiences in the film industry. With more than twenty-five years in the business, his insight into the process of commercial film production was fascinating.
He managed to combine the kind of astute advice you can only get from experience with useful and often humorous anecdotes to deliver a rich, fulfilling experience for our students. He answered their probing questions incisively and left everyone in the room with a deepened knowledge and understanding of what it takes to succeed in the notoriously precarious film industry.
