Super Scientists in year 3 and 4 had lots of fun on our recent trip to Planeta Explora! As part of our IPC unit, ‘Time and Place, Earth and Space’, we developed our knowledge, skills and understanding by conducting a range of different experiments.
The children mixed together different liquids to create a solid sticky goo. Then they learnt that liquids can be acid or alkaline. They conducted an experiment using paper clips and water. They learnt that if we placed the paper clip very gently on the surface of the water it would be held up by the surface tension and look like it was floating!
Their favourite experiments included launching a plastic bottle rocket into the air and testing dry ice…
