Animals were called together by the Buddha and Jade Emperor and asked to race across the river. The first 12 across were to be named in the Chinese Zodiac. The 12 lucky animals were, The Rat, Ox, Rabbit, Tiger, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig…with an unlucky cat being cheated out of the race! We celebrated the year of the Dragon by making our very own which we then performed the famous Dragon Dance with.
