Year 3 visit to Hacienda Albuquería
On Friday 25 May Y3 had a fantastic day out at the Hacienda Albuqueria in Coin. The day started with biscuits and juice to fuel us up for a day of activity. We were split into 2 groups where we met our brilliant monitors who would look after us and teach us new things. We all learnt how to do archery which was quite hard at first but we soon got the hang of it. Our favourite part of the day had to be the “tirolina” it looked so scary and so high but we all tried it and loved it!! We ended the day with a gorgeous lunch. We would love to go back again someday as it was so much fun!

The children were very excited to see such a vast array of animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, reptiles, birds and many more. We particularly enjoyed being driven over the rough terrain in our trucks. We saw an exhibition of falconry and were astounded by the size of the birds of prey; one even landed on Miss Amy´s head!

KS1 Summer Sports Day
On Tuesday 15 May Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage held their annual Sports Day. This is always an important event in the Primary school calendar but particularly so this year as we are all eagerly anticipating the 2012 Olympics. It was a fun day and all children participated enthusiastically in their races. The events included running races, sack races, the egg and spoon race and even an obstacle course – not forgetting the Parents´ Race! Granada held on to their title but everyone did their best and, in true Olympian fashion we were all champions.
