Open Day Aloha College

On Thursday 29 April parents were thrilled to be able to see their children involved in classroom activities, or watch the teaching going on higher up the school. Junior parents as yet unacquainted with Senior School, were highly satisfied to witness the standards of teaching and learning going on there.

Year 3 trip to Marbella

As part of their Sociales studies Year 3 children visited Marbella on Monday 26 April. During their visit to the Town Hall they were able to sit in the official chambers where debate and voting take place. They were welcomed by the Mayoress, Mrs Angeles Muñoz, and had their photograph taken with her, to make this day even more memorable.

Spanish Book Day

To celebrate Spanish Book Day, we chose Francisco Ibáñez and his most famous comic characters, Mortadelo and Filemón. Children researched his work and on the big day, Friday 23 April, they were able to dress up as one of these characters, who have retained their popularity for more than 50 years.

International Award – Bronze practice

On Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 April Aloha College’s International Award Club will carry out a Bronze Award Practice hike in the Sierra de Las Nieves Natural Park near El Burgo in preparation for their expedition later in the term. The trip will involve a hike of around 6 hours on Saturday, camping overnight within the Park, then hiking again on Sunday. The students will be working in small groups, navigating alone for some periods and meeting staff at check points.

A Roof for Chile

Once again Aloha College gives a helping hand to those in need. You will remember the devastating earthquake suffered by Chile recently which left many families homeless. In cooperation with “UN TECHO PARA CHILE” www.untechoparachile.cl the Charity Committee with the help of Management have prepared a fund-raising campaign to try and alleviate some of the suffering.

CEP starts Monday

This term we have an extensive activity programme to offer your children which includes new activities. The activities start on Monday 12 April and will end on Thursday 17 June.
