On Wednesday 13 February, 20 Aloha College students participated in the “1st Costa del Sol Interschool Quiz” organized by I-answer and sponsored by Da Bruno Restaurant. This exciting event took place in Andalucía Lab, in Marbella, and 8 schools participated.Year 7 and Year 8 students had to answer “general knowledge” multiple choice questions using the “I-answer voting system” entering their answers using a remote control. Questions on Maths, Geography, History, Science, amongst other areas of knowledge, were shown to the students who battled energetically to find the correct solutions before the time was up.In the team competition the students had to answer 30 questions in limited time. 14 teams participated and Aloha College, team 2, came first! In the individual competition the students also had to answer 30 questions and out of 140 students David González, a Year 8 pupil of Aloha came 3rd. Two other students were placed in the top 10.Congratulations went to all of these students for these excellent results, their enthusiasm and dedication.The main organiser of this great event was Fran Gómez Espigares, who was actually an alumni of Aloha College.
Language and Literature (Language A). Students take their studies in a language in which they are academically competent.
Language acquisition (Language B). A modern language course with an emphasis on understanding another culture through its language.
Individuals and Societies: Provides for the development of a critical appreciation of the nature and activities of human activities in history and the physical, economic and social environment that people inhabit.
Experimental Sciences: The exploration of concepts, theories, models and techniques that underpin each subject area and through these, develop their understanding of the scientific method.
Mathematics: The development of mathematical knowledge, concepts and principles and the development of logical, critical and creative thinking.
The Arts: Students develop their understanding of the dynamic and changing nature of the arts and explore the diversity of arts and learn to express themselves with confidence and competence. Students may opt to study an additional science, individuals and societies, or languages course, instead of a course in the arts.
