Y6 Trip to Doñana National Park March 2018

Year 6 enjoyed a special trip to Doñana National Park in March.  They thought it was amazing, and well worth the long journey on the coach, which passed rapidly as the children were very excited! We visited El Rocío which is a village right on the edge of the wetlands where the children witnessed flamingos and other wildlife. We explored the village and saw the beautiful church of El Rocío with all the gold at its altar.

We also by 4×4 vehicles to the National park where the children saw wild deer and boar.  They were interested to explore the old homes with thatched roofs, were the first settlers lived.  From rolling down sand dunes to looking for animal footprints in the woods and stepping aboard the replica boats used by Christopher Columbus when discovering the Americas, the children had a wonderful, educational experience.
