KS3 Art Exhibition Feb 2018

Pupils from Year 7, 8 & 9 have showcased their impressive Artwork in the Key Stage 3 Art Exhibition. This has been a super opportunity for our younger secondary school pupils to experience having their artwork displayed in a real gallery environment, whilst inspiring others and showcasing their artistic skills.

Work on display include a variety of styles, this included work in clay, mod roc, paint, soft pastels, chalk and charcoal, pencil and oil pastels.

Some of the highlights included Year 7s colourful and expressive abstract paintings inspired by Kandinsky.  Alongside this were beautifully drawn supersized shells from their ‘Sea’ project. Also Year 7 showed their 3D skills with imaginative clay monsters.

Year 8 displayed fantastic colourful blended marble studies, detailed tonal pencil drawings and clay mugs both on the theme ‘animals’.

Whilst Year 9 displayed creative 3D sculpture, inspired by the Pop artists such as Claes Oldenburg, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Year 9 also presented 2D portraiture work, inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s impressionistic style and Japanese Art influence.

Well done to everyone involved, it was a fantastic success and we look forward to next years exhibition!
