Year 8 Chocolate Enterprise Challenge

On Thursday November 18th, as part of the school’s ongoing Futurewise Careers Programme, all year 8 students took part in an Enterprise Challenge. Working in groups they had to build a business team with the aim of creating, packaging and marketing an exciting new chocolate brand.

Ten teams launched their products in front of a panel of judges who were looking for creativity, teamwork, a strong product and clear marketing message. Several stood out; Choco Drops had plans for a strong social media campaign, Universe had a strong concept with enticing promotions and Sargent and Co. had a catchy slogan. However, the overall winners were Smarkles, created by Andrea Gozalo, Eva Lyagina, William Kulewicz, Dmitry Goryachkin, Noa Alario, Nanyanan Komaro and Leyth Kaddoura. This team presented a well-acted advert filled with imagination and humour. The judges were impressed that Smarkles planned to donate 25% of their profits to charity and that the team had nurtured everyone’s individual talents.

We hope that the Chocolate Enterprise Challenge will have inspired students to become the business movers and shakers of the future.
