YEAR 7 SCIENCE FIELDWORK TRIP TO MIJAS MAY 2019

The study of ecology is a fundamental topic in biology. To help the Year 7 students put the scientific theory into practice, they took part in a fieldtrip to the Mijas Costa to better understand the interactions of living organisms in the rocky shore ecosystem. The students were able to use a variety of scientific fieldwork methods to identify, measure and record a wide range of different ocean organisms. The students worked well to gather data and were respectful of the ocean creatures that were collected, observed and returned to the rock pools after they had been studied. The trip was a great success and the year 7 class impressed the teachers with their effort on a hot sunny day.
