“The London 2012 Olympic Games is our theme this term throughout the whole school from Nursery to Year 6. As an entry point to this we celebrated the schools internationality by hosting an ‘Olympic’ style opening ceremony before the Key Stage 2 Summer Sports Day. Every child in Key Stage 1 and 2 made the flag of their home country and enjoyed wearing their country colours.Just like the official athletes parade, the children paraded proudly in alphabetical order waving their flags. Foundation stage created wonderful torches for the Torch Relay which was followed by the choir singing a beautiful accapelo version of Wave Your Flag.”
