Preparing pupils for the challenges of the wider world

Academic work is at the heart of Aloha College and is based on the principles of encouraging lifelong learning and independence.

Supported in the classroom by well qualified and experienced staff, Sixth Form students at Aloha College are challenged to question, to be reflective and to develop their learning skills.

Academic innovation has been shown by the introduction of A Levels to ensure that all students have access to any university worldwide.

We are committed to a curriculum that recognises diversity in both ability and interest.

Students leave Aloha College with an intellectual curiosity and resilience that prepares them for the challenges of the wider world. For the majority this will be university and the demands of undergraduate study.

Direct Access to University

Both the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the A Level Programmes allow for direct access to leading universities in the world and Spanish universities, providing certain conditions are complied with. Pupils who are applying for very popular courses (e.g. Medicine or Architecture) normally have to undergo an extra exam in specific subjects so they can gain additional points. Direct access is easier now and instead of having to do the prueba de competencia específica, some universities allow students to present their IB results in those specific subjects for convalidation.

At Aloha we support these candidates and offer them additional tuition in Spanish in the subjects that they need to take. We are of course happy to advise individual students on what is right for them.
