On Thursday 28th March IGCSE Music students experienced a most musical day out in Málaga. In the morning, they enjoyed a concert given by the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra at the Cervantes Theatre. Under the direction of José María Moreno, the orchestra impressed with pieces including “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by Dukas, made famous by the Disney classic “Fantasia”. A special appearance was made by Pacho Flores, the world-renowned Venezuelan trumpet player.

After a relaxed lunch in the sunshine in Plaza de la Merced, students spent the afternoon at the Interactive Music Museum where they were able to see a wide variety of instruments from all over the world as well as getting hands on in the interactive zones to experiment with sound waves, unusual instruments and even play as a Rock Band.
