Y1-Y6 PRIMARY SCHOOL ASSESSMENTS SUMMER 2020
I trust you and your families are all safe and well. Thank you for supporting your children during Distance Learning, which I know can be challenging at times.
|
The teachers have been preparing lessons throughout this extraordinary period to meet the needs of your children. As part of any normal teaching routine it is standard practice to assess children from time to time to inform their next steps and set targets for each individual child.
|
From 1 to 10 June teachers will be incorporating assessment activities into the daily lessons, which we will need the children to attempt independently. These assessments are for future planning purposes only. The results will not be used for End-of-Year Report grades or to determine groupings next year or to decide if a child progresses to the next year group.
|
The assessments do not need revision and no pressure should be placed on the children, who are quite used to this routine in the normal classroom. During the week children will be asked to stay online and complete a short task independently. The teachers will then use the information to decide which curriculum objectives your children understands and where they will need further support or challenge. For realistic feedback therefore, it is important that you resist the temptation to help your child answer the questions.

ESCUELA PRIMARIA: EVALUACIONES Y1-Y6 TERCER TRIMESTRE 2020
Confío en que ustedes y sus familias estén todos bien, sanos y salvos. Gracias por apoyar a sus hijos durante el aprendizaje a distancia, que sé que puede ser un reto a veces.

Los profesores han estado preparando lecciones durante este extraordinario período para atender las necesidades de sus hijos. Como parte de cualquier rutina normal de enseñanza es una práctica estándar evaluar a los alumnos de vez en cuando para planear los pasos siguientes y establecer objetivos para cada niño de manera individual.
|
Del 1 al 10 de junio los profesores incorporarán actividades de evaluación en las lecciones diarias, que los niños tendrán que intentar completar de forma independiente. Estas evaluaciones son sólo para propósitos de planificación futura. Los resultados no se utilizarán para las notas de los Boletines de fin de curso ni para determinar los grupos del próximo año ni para decidir si un niño promociona al curso siguiente.

Los niños no necesitan repasar el temario y los padres no deberían presionarles; están ya bastante acostumbrados a esta rutina en el aula normal. Durante la semana se les pedirá a los niños que permanezcan en línea y completen una breve tarea de forma independiente. Los profesores utilizarán la información para decidir qué objetivos del plan de estudios sus hijos han alcanzado y dónde necesitarán más apoyo o retos. Por lo tanto, para obtener unos datos realistas, es importante que resistan la tentación de ayudar a sus hijos a responder a las preguntas.
