The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organisation works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The aims of the International Baccalaureate are embodied in the Learner Profile, a list of ten characteristics that should define all Diploma students:

Balanced Caring
Communicators Inquirers
Knowledgeable Open-minded
Principled Reflective
Risk-takers Thinkers
A LEVELS

“A Levels” are very demanding and academically rigorous courses offered by UK Examination Boards. They enable students to study individual subjects in a great amount of depth and to specialise in those areas in which they feel particularly strong.

Students at Aloha College choose four subjects in Year 12 and continue with 3 or 4 into the Year 13. The options offered vary from year to year and information on these can be obtained by contacting the school.
